Here are various bits of info about The Berzerker that you might not know.  Most of this info was taken from current sites, old long-gone fan-sites, some from the dvd, interviews etc... If you want to add to this, or know of something being wrong, please post on the forums.

  • Black metal was the working title for Ignorance.
  • 300 was the working title for Disregard.
  • The Principles And Practices Of The Berzerker (DVD) was going to be called "Forever".
  • Dissimulate was going to be called "A World of Compromise".
  • Former guitarist Matt Wilcock left the band so that he could emigrate from Australia and move to the UK in search of a more established metal scene. Not long after arriving in the UK, he was announced as Akercocke's replacement for the recently departed Paul Scanlan.  Sam is also now based in the UK.
  • Rumours abound about whether or not The Drummer held or broke the Guinness World Record for being the fastest drummer, but this was pure fabrication on the part of internet users. Not only was there no proof of him reaching the alleged speeds (19 bps per hand), but even if he had done them, without an adjudicator the record wouldn't have stood anyway.
  • The Berzerker was originally the project of Luke Kenny alone, where he played as a DJ of extreme electronic genres such as gabba and speedcore; however, he was always a large fan of death metal and grindcore. The idea later arose to him to change The Berzerker into a band that was a combination of gabba/speedcore and death/grind. The Berzerker gained its record deal after impressing Earache so much with a number of remixes of bands such as Morbid Angel which the label had asked Luke Kenny to do that they offered him a two-album deal.
  • I'm pretty sure the voice samples are mostly taken from the faces of death series. I've seen a few of them about 15 years ago and I KNOW that it's the narrators voice (it haunted me for years) but I found this on an old long-gone fan-site.  The Berzerker take their samples from mono and death films from the 60s to the mid 80s. Some of the titles are "Junk," "Africa Ama," "Savage Man, Savage beast?," "Body Work," "Shocking Asia 1 and 2" and "Shocking Africa."
  • In 1995, Luke Kenny was in a car accident that left him unable to continue what was his passion, drumming. This however, would inspire him to form what would become the most extreme musical project ever. Experts say his cereberum should not have survived.
  • The first release of the self titled cd (MOSH222) had a typo on the side, it says THE BEZERKER, no R. It also has a different cover (mask).

For more interesting stuff, check out the interviews section, most of them are old though. Maybe MadlyInHATE will do our own Berzerker interview sometime? (Are you reading this Luke?)
